how sharp is scary sharp

I use a single sheet of tissue or toilet paper. If a knife can cleanly cut that, then it's sharp.

scary sharp is somewher around a bitter edge, but definately not vorpal yet. Had a knife that was most bitter and scary, I had just finished stropping off the wire edge, and was wiping the blade, it sliped cut through the paper towle, and my left forfinger down to the bone, (still got the scar) It was so shap that I did not feel it and I di not not require stiches (no tearing at all) wit pressure it closed back over and was sealed in 5 min. Now thats scary sharp, of cousre with a knife that sharp I'd be araid to tryto shave with it, one slip and.....

IMO, scary sharp is similar to the post above: It cuts you so quickly and cleanly that you don't realize it until you see blood.

Or, if not that deeply, you don't realize it until the flap of skin gets caught on something and tears.

Unfortunately, you don't know that it is scary sharp until it is too late.

The good news is, it heals a LOT quicker when the cut is from a "scary sharp" blade.

If you can cut newspaper easily its getting there. Now hold the paper loosely in one hand, single sheet unfolded. And take the knife in the other hand and try to cut off big peices of the sheet with a chopping motion. Do it at the end farthest from your hand so that A- its harder to do, and B- you don't lose a finger.
