How Swiss Army Knives are Made

To me, Vic is like Budweiser. To make that much of a product, and do it consistently, day in and day out, takes and extraordinary amount of engineering.
My dream is to make grow my knives into a midtech level company. Victorinox is a perfect example of streamlining. I won the history of Victorinox book in a give away a little while ago. It was fascinating. An amazing company, for sure.

If we're using beer analogies, can we at least go with Sam Adams? I wouldn't want to insult my Vics like that.

My kids all have the classic. I had a old lockback hunter years ago but lost it when I went to college. I have often thought about replacing it with the rucksack but have never pulled the trigger.

Actually the analogy is pretty accurate when you consider market share. Both are at the very top of their respective industries as far as production goes. A-B produces roughly as much beer a day as Sam Adams does a year. Sam Adams might be more closely compared to Queen or GEC. Just say'in :D

NO!!!! I still will believe that mystical Swiss creatures (perhaps knife Fairies? I have dreams I can't repeat here about knife fairies) wave wands, bring the perfect mix of perfection together, and hooved Pegasus hoses stamp the logos with their golden horseshoes. The SAK is one of the best bang for the buck tools out there. That and Viagra, but I think they have a SAK for that now (again, the fairy dreams.)

Actually a very cool vid.

Thanks for posting the video link. I just watched it. Very interesting.

Thanks for posting! A similar show called "How it's Made" also had an episode featuring the Victorinox factory, but this was much more in-depth.
