  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

How thick is 3/32 of an inch?

In the USA scientists used metric starting about 1850 !! Nobody took the hint. In college they took fun in presenting a test with all the given data in different systems !! Inch decimal, inch fractional , cgs, mks.and anything else they could think of like Angstrom. When computerized machines came out I always forgot - do you want the data in inches or metric ? No problem the machine understands both !!!
Well there had to be changes since more women were becoming machinists the 'closer than a cunt hair ' was no longer PC !

Never seen a lady machinist. We do have a number of lady engineers.

We figure it's good if it's within an RCH. That's a red one of them there things.

Metric's gonna be used if you sell abroad, which is most companies. I'd say 80%-90% of our stuff is metric.

The term we used at work was "chair" as in "just a chair over oh-nine thirty-seven". It helped us avoid warnings from the bosses.
