According to my profile, I joined Bladeforums on 04-06-2000. Seven years already. Has it been worth it? :D

(Sheesh. I shoulda put this in Whine & Cheese!)

I joined BFC on 6-14-2000, a few months after Esav. It was from this forum that Esav and I met. We live not more than 1/4 mile from each other. I am a better man for knowing him. :)

Happy Anniversary! :D

You're certainly not getting any f-word comments with regard to your tenure here by posting in Community forum if that's what you were after Esav :D

You're an old-timer ... how does it feel ?

I joined in November, 1998, so I have you beat in seniority if not in number of posts. :D I won't ask about age if you don't.

.. do ya remember what yer first post was?

Listen, sonny, I don't remember what I had for breakfast yeasterday! :p

---

I used to read every page of Blade Magaine, even the ads. I came across a small ad for "Chai Cutlery" -- James Mattis. I checked out his website and came to a reference to him being a moderator on "Bladeforums", so I looked in on it, many electrons ago.

I do remember I spent a long time reading one forum after another and all the FAQ before I got around to asking questions. Giving answers took a while after that. Now, fortunately, I know everything ...

Fortunately, Hugh is MUCH older than I am, so I don't have to feel like a very old old-timer.

On the other hand, Collucci is only about a month older than my daughter, so every time I talk to him, my arthritis kicks up again.

What's this MUCH older stuff? 13 months and 24 days? :D LMAOROFL

Thanks for cheering me up a bit, Esav. If you look down a thread or so, you will see that a friend just died.

Hugh,

If it makes you feel better I'll start referring to both of you as the "Old Coots of BFC."

:D :D :D

To Esav, my favorite poet and just a nice guy. :D

Yes it's been worth it for me to meet you here. I wish I could meet you in person......maybe if I can ever find my way out of these mountains I will.

Congrads on your loooooong membership to BladeForums. :)

We are getting old, you should write a poem about that........:o

Robbie Roberson ;)

Robbie Roberson ;)

I did.

Taps

Limping slowly into winter,
Stumbling in the cold and dark,
As the evening breezes freeze me,
Walking through the park at night;

I wonder how to reach the end
Of the road I walk in pain,
While the world whirls round beside me,
Like a fickle, flighty friend.

Leaning on my sole support,
Clicking slowly as we wander
Far from warmth and cheerful faces,
Cane-tip tapping, tapping on the ground.

Oh Crimeny, I've been here almost as long as some of the oldest coots on the forum... Esav and T. Erdelyi, two guys who still owe Jesus Christ a quarter. And even longer than Ronsec, whose picture is in the dictionary next to the words Old Coot. Oh, I feel my bones getting brittler by the minute...

Six years for me this Feburary...I have enjoyed it immensly. I have met better friends here in this forum that in the miserable UAW redneck town I live in..

I remember my first post...it went something like this..

Sebenza??? why so much money for a lousy production knife??:D
