How time flies.

Congratulations Esav and all you old timers! I was new to the internet in 2001 and was amazed that knifemakers had their own sites... kept me busy with knife watching! I knew nothing of BladeForums until one friendly knifemaker had told me to check it out. He added this caveat... "Don't wander into 'Whine & Cheese', they will eat you alive!" So in December of 2001 I joined BladeForums and immediately checked out 'Wine & Cheese'. I don't remember what my 1st post was but I do know it wasn't in 'Wine & Cheese'... that took almost 2 years to do! :D

Thanks for bringing this up, Esav. I just checked my profile and today marks 4 years for me.

Of course, I'm making ~400 posts per year, and you're averaging ~3000, but that's fine. :D

Geez, when all you guys started talking about knives, I was still certain you could only find porn on the internet.

But at my back I always hear
Time's wingèd chariot hurrying near:
And yonder all before us lie
Deserts of vast eternity.

not original, but apt.

You are old.
I am not.
You have one foot
in your burial plot.

I joined BFC on 6-14-2000, a few months after Esav. It was from this forum that Esav and I met. We live not more than 1/4 mile from each other. I am a better man for knowing him. :)

Happy Anniversary! :D

We are all better for knowing him. Even if it's just as a disembodied 'voice' on BF.

I am a member of a few forums, probably like many here. There are members who I really respect on those forums. Their posts are intelligent, they 'speak' with gentle tones, and they rarely (if ever) take sides.

I consider Esav such a person. Esav is an asset to this forum.

That's my birthday 'cept it was more like 1960. :D

I don't post as much as some, and feel I could never give back as much as I've gained. There are lots of folks on this forum that continue to teach me, and I always respect the wisdom of my elders. ;) Thanks for teaching me, Esav.

You give back just by being here, even if you haven't got as much time to spend online as some of us. It's really more about the new people joining all the time that keeps the forum jumping.

Even with the same old questions! :D

Always enjoy your post Esav, along with everyone else posting in this thread. I have learned so much since I joined, and still learning, but you are right, I can't believe it has been this long.
