How to accept incoming friend requests?

I have two notifications with incoming friend requests and can't figure out how to accept them. The check mark in the box for "accept" is set, but when I click on "save changes" nothing happens. Any help?

After days not being able to figure it out, I finally got it minutes after writing this post, , sorry.

Just for posterity, as if anyone actually searches before asking ...

I also am unable to accept friend requests due to an older browser which has problems with some Javascript functions (e.g. I also cannot "Edit Tags").

However, if, upon recieving a friend request, I go to that person's profile and send them a friend request in return, the result is the same as if I had simply accepted their request, i.e. they are automatically placed on my friend's list.

You can also go to their profile, upper left top side it says "User Lists" There you can click add them as friend or your ignore list. Quick way to add someone to ignore.
