I want to try to disassemble a Delica and it will come in very handy!

A great post indeed! I just finished up disassembling and cleaning my Delica after I gunked it up a couple years ago and threw it in a drawer (used it for what was definitely the wrong job). Man that lockbar was a #$&%@ and a half ;) but the method described was the trick. Not as easy as a Native, but still fairly simple.
 
Nice write up. I've changed multiple scales on my Delicas and they can be tricky for sure especially the lockbar and spring. Fun stuff though.
 
Does anyone know why some have this gap and some dont?
