What is the best way to attach stall matt handle material? I was going to try Corby bolts, but it seems like they may pull through the material. Any ideas?

There's a rubberized CA glue that seems to work well with it, can't remember the name of it offhand. The tang needs to be really roughed up the corbys won't hurt. I'm seriously considering putting some small flared tubing in the scale holes to act as grommets the next rubber handled knife I make.

I hear you. Didn't think of grommets, at least it will hold somewhat. It seemed like a good idea for a camp knife but if I can't get the material to stay on the handle, i might have to scrap that idea.

I did a knife, a big chopper and just used supper glue and it is holding great. supper glue loves rubber. i did bead blast the tang so it was a bit more grippy.

Loctite 480. There's also a blister-pack variety at home depot that is labeled "toughened", which I believe is also made by loctite.

the best way that I have found is to use rtv silicon and a trick told to me by Ed Schemp. I first clean everything and glue on the matt handle. I then take some O ring material from the parts house and drill holes through the handle and tang that are about one drill bit size smaller than the oring material. then sharpen the end of the oring far enough back so that you can get it started through the handle/tang and out the other side. now pull the oring material all the way through the handle except for about an inch. the next part works best if you have the blade clamped in a padded vise. now put some super glue or more rtv on the oring as close to the handle as possible. quickly grab both sides of the oring with pliers and stretch it out enough so that it slides easily back and forth through the handle. pull it back and forth a few times to distribute the glue and then release the pliers. the oring material will swell back up completely filling the holes and act like rivets in the handle. clip the ends close to the handle let everything dry properly, (a few minutes for super glue at least over night for rtv) and finish sanding to shape.
