How To Best Convert An Original Schrade USA 152 Sharpfinger Sheath To A Cross-draw

Hopefully you didn't get much road rash from that little slide??

Sol, you could have made, or make a couple of rigging loops. You know the type you see often on police belts? Normally a leather loop with two snaps, run one loop through the belt loop on the sheath. The other loop is the trick though, it might be tight enough to simply go around the body of the sheath and belt and hold it there. A few stitches through the welt and loop would work as well, but difficult.

Just a couple of ideas that have been floating around in my head.

Hello Sonil: That looks like a motorcycle accident - street skid that caused that on your clothes. What's it got to do with the true horizontal sheath and knife that you were wearing?

Hello Leatherman: Good idea but I'm starting to think that anything I try will most likely be too difficult for this rookie at leather works/stitching. I got a good price from a guy online who I had contacted a while back. He does beautiful work and will make me one for $40.00 shipped. I also have Paul's offer to go up to his place but this broke ass guy probably can't afford a sheath by Paul Long, let alone two so, I may wait a while before contacting him for the Kershaw pocket knife. Thanks for the input, buddy!

.
Not much rush(thank God) it was less than 50 yards... but i distinctly remember thinking while sliding, "God this is starting to hurt, when am I going to stop" LOL

Sonil, I hope your recovery was fast and nothing permanent. However, since you came on here but did not reply to my question assures me that your input (photos included) was just an attempt to blow smoke up my arse.

Uh, NO!

Lets not go there ok? Drama is not acceptable in this sub forum.

not only unacceptable, not tolerated.

Leatherman: with all due respect, since no facts were made available by him, not even a reply, I beg to differ on who really started the drama. No offense to you or to this forum.

...actually my post it was a response to the "SOB sheaths work only in movies"...my point was that an SOB sheath(in scout position) can actually prove itself useful in a moto spill:D ...like keeping your lower spine of the ground while every piece of cloth and some flesh above and below it gets chewed up, but if you prefer smoke up your rear you can look at it as that too...no skin of my back:p

LOL. I prefer the truth over smoke...anywhere :) ...and that is exactly what you shared with us. Looking at the pictures that you shared with us, that was pretty much what I felt had happened and yet, I confused your wording to have meant the opposite of that. My bad. Thanks, buddy, for clearing that up for me!
