How to blow a career in one easy step (Ashlee Simpson)

I didn't think anyone could top Jewel's Superbowl National Anthem flub, but this one just might.

I've long since made the decision to boycott bands/musicians who cannot perform shows (Leno, Letterman, SNL, etc). And by perform, I mean perform...not pretend.
 
I saw that and couldn't figure out what went wrong. At the end of the show she said somethin that sounded like "they played the wrong song"?
 
Yeah, one talentless hack per family is enough, no need for little sister to follow in her footsteps.

Not a graceful exit. But what do expect for a no talent never was (as opposed to a has been)

Hey...Jewel is actually a good performer live. At least she admitted she lip synced the superbowl. And they make the singers do it anyway.

I did hear Ashlee Simpson perform live on TV. Let's just say it's better for the audience to listen to her lip sync.

And has anyone heard what her sister Jessica did to Robbie Williams' song Angels? Man...i don't like robbie williams but i actually like that song and she just fu(k£d it up. She was just screaming it out.

The pre-recorded song beings playing, and you hear her voice before she puts the mic to her mouth, and you continue to hear her voice a while after she has put the mic down with a WTF expression on her face.

Essentially, it's hard proof that she's a lip syncing, talentless hack.

Remember American Bandstand? Hell...even Jim Morrison and the Beatles had to lip sync on that show. They were PISSED about it, too. The Beatles actually played live on Sullivan, though.

Actually, I may be thinking of Herman's Hermits on Bandstand...not sure if the Beatles ever played there.
 
It's nice to sometimes see one of the "beautiful people" fall to earth. :D
Guess "you can't always get what you want" ha ha. Looks like no record contract for this young lady.
 
The nice thing about living overseas is that I have no friggin' idea who is Ashlee Simpson, or any of the other flash in the pan celebrities that seem to constantly crop up.
 
Of course she lip syncs. What's weird is that they just a played a song of hers that she wasn't expecting and it confused her to such a degree that she simply walked off the stage during a live performance on national TV. :confused:

The band did a pretty good job of "going with the flow", but check out the smirks on their faces. :)

Absolutely not, this is going to be her career starter. Think about it, her sister didn't have as big a following as she has today until the "chicken of the sea" incident. I'm expecting to see Ashlee on a few talk/comedy shows making fun of herself. This is the new, improved Hollywood recipe for dealing with disaster. Get her back out there to laugh at herself. Everyone will love her...:rolleyes:

BTW, did someone call her "one of the beautiful people?" :eek:

:D. You don't have to live overseas to be in that state of blissful ignorance, but I imagine it helps.:D Guess I need to turn on the T.V. and tune on "celebrity news" every once in a while and quit using the entertainment section of the newpaper to clean my windshield - na - I'll take the blissful ignorance.
 
These people are an industry. Without publicity they don't exist. Support the American economy, idolize a celebrity today! :p
 
I have no idea who Ms. Simpson is or why I should know her.

Why does anyone think Ms. Simpson is important? Probably because someone else told you she's important. Wake up and start making these decisions for yourself instead of allowing the Hollywood marketing department to tell you how to think.
 
I had to look her up too. I figured she was Jessica Simpson's sister or something, but I don't even really know who Jessica is, apart from some bimbo on TV. Ashlee is/was on that purile "7th Heaven" WB show. She's not unattractive, but looks don't equate talent.

Contrast this to my favorite SNL music performance(s) by perhaps the ugliest mofo in music, Frank Zappa.
