How to blow a career in one easy step (Ashlee Simpson)

I think jsmatos is right. It's pretty clear that most of us here had never heard of her before this happened, but now it's water-cooler conversation just about everywhere. Among angst-ridden teenage girls she might have had a following, but now a lot more people have heard of her and at least some of those will be interested enough to actually buy product - those who normally do buy prepackaged overproduced flavor of the month MTV-approved product. It will ultimately be good for her career, firefly-like as it may be.

BTW, did someone call her "one of the beautiful people?"
Not to be confused with "good looking" It was a joke. :D "Beautiful People" are the folks who can float along in life with everything at thier beck and call. Or people that think they are one of the BP's. In short, most everyone who is famous. Yeah a small tinge of jealosy here :D

I never heard of her before this incident, and I really don't care if I never hear about her again.

What do I care about her?

Methinks he doth protest too much. :D

You don't and neither do ANY of us here...but the fact that she "got caught with her knickers down" on live TV is rather funny to many of us. Thanks for the link Torz...that was baaaaad. :)

Oh I loved the video clip. That little dance of her's looked downright drug-induced.

I had never heard of her. But, we are not her demographic; it doesn't matter what we think. If you are not currently in high school or college, the talk isn't going to generate interest. the real impact is how her audience (by the way she has the current #1 pop song) reacts to being hoodwinked. This is yet another clear example of a fake talent-less pop icon, created by the industry.
