  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

How to Buy a Suit?

I'm looking for a suit I that I can be reasonably active in - that can handle being hot and sweaty etc. I walk quite a bit so it is important my clothing can keep up.

That's a tough one, Al. Sometimes you'll see a suit with two pairs of pants, but not at the higher end. I like that at a Penneys(granted, NOT a high end product) you can mix and match and buy pants and jackets separately as just that piece wears out.

If you get hot and sweaty a lot, I know that there's recommended ways to clean suits, ways that help extend the lifespan, like steaming or pressing rather than dry cleaning. Anybody know what's best here?

I'm somewhat fat and sweaty. There are lighter weight fabrics, but it's still a suit and you'll still be wearing a noose. Probably dragging a laptop case as well.

You're going to get sweaty in a suit unless you work outdoor events a lot in a place with a mild climate.

Cleaning suits is a must as dried out sweaty suits attract moths even more! Moths and suits are a BAD combination. Trust me on this.

John
