I carry all my nicer slip joints in a soft leather pouch. The pouch protects the knife from banging up against change or my small flashlight. I like my knife to stay vertical in my pocket and the leather pouch helps keep it upright.

I just put them either in the pocket,or the watch pocket
I try to keep coins, and whatever separated. The pouch, surely will protect the knife far better from small scratches or bolster swirls, but,I'm clumsy & I personally feel,I run the risk of dropping the knife from the hieght of waist level while standing (you know,as you would take it out of the pouch and then open it,too much fuss),and to me,that is worse for the knife, than the "pocket worn" look.
I like to carry & use them, drop them right in the pocket.IMO,this is the only way to really enjoy owning such a knife, but then again I never really go for like engraved bolsters or really ,really gent's type scale material, like M.O.P,or black lip pearl.Sounds like a nice EDC you picked for yourself, congrats
Vince

Unless it is pearl, I put them in an otherwise empty pocket.

If you do happen to want a pouch to carry it in.... Ron Ryder at

http://www.cuttersandcollectors.com/

does good stuff and is great to work with. If you look at his site, you'll see a back pocket pouch made for a person who's "internet name" is Blues. Hmmmm...I wonder who that could be.

Empty pocket naked. I try to keep keys and other things in a different pocket. If it's a larger knife like my Erickson Remington Bullet then I put it in my Rowe pocket sheath and clip it on my back pocket or right front.

I carry my slippies in a SackUp sleeve and it's the only thing in my pocket. Like Jason (morrowj), I like my slippy to be vertical in my pocket.

A Gene Shadley stockman should be carried...........proudly. :D

I hate to admit it but I use a leather pouch with my custom knives. I like to carry and use them but I don't like to see them dinged up by keys and change etc.

My carry method depends on the knife. I will say. . . .carrying a slippie while nakked leaves few available choices. :D

Carry in a pouch. . . . .that's so. . . .never mind. :D

Those admitting they do. . . . .well. . . .excellent blackmail material. :p

Some "nekkid", some in a small lambskin slip pouch. (I'm not dumping a Bill Ruple "Best of Show" into my pocket with my truck keys! )

Nekkid, in the watch pocket of my jeans, or, in one of the accessory pockets of my cargo shorts.

thx - cpr

DID SOMEBODY SAY KNIFE PURSE!!! or was ya just thinkin it.:yawn::)

I go both ways:D Some with a pouch and some alone inthe pocket:thumbup: Six of one, half dozen of another.

I have five jean pockets, I just find an empty one and slide it. But I don't own a custom slipjoint, although I would probably still do the same. If I carry two knives and one of them goes into the pocket with change then I prefer to use a pouch. But otherwise I fing it just takes more time to use it and I really like the pocket worn look.

Sew a small, vertical pocket inside a front pants pocket
for your slipjoint.
It'll keep the knife vertical, and away from things which can scratch.
