how to carry

I have a firestone throwing axe and a GB hunter(handles about 20-22 inches).
How would you carry one in the woods?
Assume you don't want to carry it in your hands and no backpack. (With a pack it is easy to strap it on.)

Hi Doctum,

I just bought the Gransfor Bruk Hunters Ax as well and found that survival sheath systems can make a kydex sheath for the ax. The belt harness would be teklok and there is a shoulder rig available as well.

I am currious too, the proper way to carry a double bitt axe? with the head down low? or same as a single bitt..

the recent link post to that government website, the wording on proper carrying of a double bitt was kinda strange... blah
