How do you guys clean Damascus? I got a great deal on my first Case 1989 Damascus knife, and i, wondering since it looks like it may need a polish, what should i do? Thanks

I have a 100+ year old keris that developed a few little rust spots once. I lathered the blade in mineral oil for a while and then used a cloth and some elbow grease to rub it out. No trace of the rust now.

If the damascus is acid etches, you aren't supposed to polish it really. The mineral oil and friction are the best things to use.
