I always forget about that stuff and use it mainly for burns, it helps the healing very well.

If you can see tendons or bone, it is definitely deep. You said yours was confined to the skin. That would be superficial.

To my knowledge, hydrogen peroxide does not retard healing. It reacts with tissue which is already dead and kills the germs in the neighborhood. I believe a superficial wound will heal faster with peroxide. Once the wound has "sealed," keep it clean with soap and water and use neosporin.
