How To Cut Abs Without It Melting?

sharp blade, coolant, and feed fast is the only thing that has worked for me. That stuff sucks, I much prefer to work with delrin. I am a rooky, so hopefully someone else will have some tricks for you.

What are you cutting it with now? ABS Pipe or solid? Stevo is right, sharp blade fast feed. I have found a slower speed works on the cut. Slow speed and heavy feed.

I do most of my work with ABS on the lathe. I use very sharp tools. I grind a radical chip breaker on the parting tool and turn the speed down then feed the tool just about as fast as I can by hand. If you are cutting with a saw I would recommend doing it by hand if you do not want that melted burr. A new blade is highly recommended.
