how to cut steel? help

I just cut 5 blanks out with a Stanley Rod Saw from home depot. it goes on a traditional 10" hacksaw. It worked better than anything else I tried.
 
thanks smorgan I'll try that tomorrow and see what happens! had'nt even thought of that despite using it before on a diff. non-knife project-thank you
