How to Fight a Bear

My experience from hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1980 was that the best way to discourage a bear is to not have showered for 4 or 5 days. We had a bear on the north side of Blood Mountain in Georgia catch one whiff of me and me buddy and he went down that mountain ass over elbows. he may have taken out a sapling to two trying to get away from us. We also learned that those little spotted skunks are not bothered at all by your pit stank for obvious reasons. ;)
 
I could toss my boots at a bear, but that would be a cruel death for the poor beast.

Just changed my cable package back, and it was on a movie channel. That bear scene was definitely intense. The natives were supposed to be Pawnee. But if it was filmed in Alberta, they are likely Blackfoot. Their traditional enemies, the Cree, are much better looking.
