I recently purchased this 71 stockman. Its a nice knife but there is a small crack at the bottom front pin that is bugging me. Is there any way that I can fix this or should it be left alone? I'm guessing its not taking away much from the rigidity of the knife?

On older knives I rescue I will fix *small* cracks like that by filling them with super glue and immediately sanding with fine emory cloth so as to mix the dust in with the fill while blending. If it's a pretty knife I'll then take some buffing compound on my finger and blend things in more.

That's a pretty nice knife though. Will it be a user?

I'm still debating on it. I hate to ding up such a good looking old case but on the other hand it's gona kill me just looking at her sitting there if you know what i mean.

I'd think either super glue or epoxy would work for that. Super glue would probably apply more easily, and it'll flow more freely into the crack.

It never hurts to contact Case, and ask what they can do. I wouldn't count on replacement for an older knife like this (I'm assuming you don't want that anyway). They might still be able to patch that for you though. I'm sure they've done a lot of these repairs before, and they would know what works best to fix it.
