How to fix a nick

I put a little nick in my HEST blade after slamming it into some metal on accident. Should I just use my DMT and smooth it out? Or is there some secret thing to do?

they didnt tell you the secret fix with ESEE nicked blades ?

Just sharpen it out. That's all there really is to it.

Well the nick is pretty much gone.

It will gradually disappear as you use and sharpen the knife. Don't worry...be happy

I got that sinking feeling second day of owning my first ESEE and bam I smash it into a metal chair... The chair came out worse than the knife.

yeah use your dmt, I put a nick in my breeden pathfinder and started with the 325 grip, and worked my way up to the 1200 grit, took about 30 minutes to get it back into tip top shape...here's the thread on mine......

arkansas stones are great for buffing out nicks, I accidentally battoned my RC5 through a big nail running through what was a ceiling joist and rolled a quarter inch section of edge pretty bad, now it's not noticeable. One of the wonders of high carbon steel versus brittle stainless is it's easy to fix nasty accidents like that...
