Thanks to everyone for the good info. Luckily I don't think my particular case is bad at all. Will most likely be very hard to pry up to get the glue in.
I forget where, but had read on another forum that a gentleman recommended drilling a small hole perpendicular to the crack, injecting "2-ton epoxy" mixed with acetone (so it will flow easier), and "pumped in" with a very small dowel or bamboo skewer [like a piston] to achieve a hydraulic effect to force the glue into the crack. The dowel or skewer is then left in place, cut off and sanded down. Makes sense I suppose.
