How to fix Latch dents in blade?

I'm looking at some fo the blades on my Jaguars, and most of them have little dents near the tip of the bade from hitting the latch. Some of them have what looks like little bur on the tip of the knife from the latch. My knives are all taped up now with electrical tape, but I would like to fix the edge and tip. Would sharpening help this? There not really "dents", more like "marks". It's hard to see them with your naked eye unless you look very close, but I can feel them with my fingernail if I run it across the blade tip. I've never shapened my Bali's and I only have a couple of folders I don't use much, so that's why I don't sharpen. But I think I am going to pick up one of those Spyderco kits and give it a shot.

Sharpening (quite a bit of it, I'd recommend a Lansky or similar system instead of the Sharpmaker 203/4) will get rid of the chips by grinding the edge down to below the mark.

Problem: a sharp blade will chip more readily than a dull one, plus tape will have less protective effects, either on the blade or on the latch.

Try to ignore the marks if you can. That saves me a lot of headache.

I don't sharpen my balis because I still grab the blade occasionally, and the factory edge is enough to open mail and packages (I scraped caulk once also).
