Over the last month or so my wife, Carol, has taken over the paperwork with regard to my orders in house and it makes a huge difference to me to have everything listed out with full details in a weekly production schedule.

We have been using something of the sort for years but usually something or other was missing and time was wasted searching for information instead of making knives. Recently we revamped the system so I make just what is on the schedule and don't stop to search out information.

I have actually had extra time built in to develop my folder program in time for the fall season.

I would suggest to anyone fighting with a backlog that by having another person do the leg work on orders in house you will find a great deal more time to actually work on the knives on order. Of course you have to be ready to accept that someone else is going to be in charge not you.
