How to grind a convex edge

I'm working on a knife and thought I'd do a flat grind. My blade has the initial "wedge" of about 30 degrees ground into the blade up about 1/8" to 1/4" toward the spine.

Then, I started thinking I might like a convex grind instead. Is it too late? If not, how does one go about place a convex grind on a blade? My first thoughts were that I would need to start by rounding over the shoulders of the wedge I have on there now.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You are probably in a great position to start a convex grind as long as your edge isn't too thin. Basically take your blade to the slack portion of your belt and using light pressure into the belt, begin to rock the blade back and forth in the horizontal to blend the grind toward the spine. When you've got it looking good, increase the pressure towards the edge and thin the edge down to where you need it. Careful about rocking too far towards the spine or you'll create an indention and ruin your smooth transition from the ricasso to the blade at the spine.

BTW, I find it helpful to continuously rock the blade back and forth in the horizontal to keep the blend smooth and facet-free.
