I had seen some ano done on Aluminum on JGrimsmo channel way back when he did manix scales for his bro.
EDIT: also technically if u need vinegar thats also a chemical of sorts (acidic) just like the acid u mention for Aluminum. Just a diff stronger acid. Also when u put the electricity tru the water there is a chemical process occuring there
