How to jig bone?

Brian, no photos but the way I've done it and seen it done is to chuck up a rounded wheel into a dremel or die grinder and randomly touch it to the bone until you get the look you want.

The way it was done originally was with small chisels. Pieces of bone were chipped out.

I finally tried jigging some paper Garolite using a carbide burr in my rotary tool. It turned out pretty well, though I couldn't get a good picture of it.

The "jigging" is between the guard and the forward pin. I screwed up the coarser texturing between the pins, which was done with the edge of a Scotch Brite belt.
