How To How To Learn Good Stuff

Well, I checked the link again and it works fine for me. It gives me five pages of great old Bill Key's posts covering many years of the Buck forum.

If your equipment won't open it you can always search Bill Keys on the forum search bar just like I did and get the same thing......not a bit difficult.

Here's another example from that link. It's a discussion on the good old Diamondback knives made in Taiwan and reveals the fact that those companies moved to mainland China from Taiwan to get better profits. Something I never knew.

Enjoy.

We really should get back to seeking knowledge about Buck knives and collecting. The people pushing their books, sheaths, knives and other merchandise here should keep it on the selling forums. It gets old when somebody uses every third post to post pics of their merchandise to try to get more sales.

Doug, No bickering agreed
YOU cant believe everything you read on these forums or the Net you know that! I have been on these and other forums and I posted wrong info BUT at the time thought it was correct so you have to tread these waters carfully. In school I learned to have at least TWO sources for every story to VERIFY. Hell I even had other SEAL's verify story's from the SEAL Commander or I would have NOT put it in my First book " BuckMaster Knives The Authorized History Of Models 184 & 185"..I don't need to advertise anything here. I'm on Amazon, a preferred Author and World Famous now! Heck I shipped my NEW Fantastic "M9 Bayonet The Authorized History" to Germany, Italy , France, Untied Kingdom, Czech Republic, Taiwan and Australia so far. I hope when you refer to advertising books it not a slam to a Humble EXPERT like me! I really do hope you come to Our Great State of IDAHO for BUCK BCCI 30th. Where you and others can enjoy my lecture on the US Military's longest running bayonet in History the venerable M9. When and If you do come. I humbly will sell you TWO of my books at cost( NOT advertising a serious offer to help person) and gladly sign them.. Plus Joe Houser, CJ Buck, Jeff Hubbard also can sign them. THEY are a TOOL you can use.. I am Serious. I have been going since the 20th BCCI and I am sure our paths crossed ..

Rich "THE Humble EXPERT" Neyman .

First of all.......did you call me Doug? Not my name.

I know you are humble and I know you are not here just to sell your books (although you did use this post to put up a picture and give a sales pitch).

:D

And I know we can't believe everything we read on the forums--but if you read enough you will get a well-rounded view and if you copy for your notes you will have a treasure trove of information on Buck knives.

When you (and your friends) spam this forum with your sales pitches you have to realize that--as much as you may love your Buckmaster.......for many of us it's just an oddity and one we will never own. It's a small specialty niche among military collectors........it has few followers compared to something like the 110 or other popular Buck.

I think the 184 and 188 are great knives and one thing is for sure. With all the great talk about these as well as the new book coming out the prices that
these 2 great knives have been going for within the last few weeks have been record breaking.
I just picked up 2 of the harder to get variations (one 184 and one 188) nib for a great price.

As you read through all these old posts you learn things you never knew about Mick Strider (WOW) and Buck's move to Idaho and sometimes funny stuff like how Joe Houser hires people.

Yes we will have someone else doing the screening but once the applicants make it to me, I have a list of questions which i know will guarantee the proper employees for the departments i oversee:

1)Do you hunt Elk?
2)Will you take me to your favorite Elk hunting spot?
3)Whats the biggest bull taken from this spot? (This is an important question)

1)Do you hunt Turkey?
2)Will you ect...
3)Whats the ect...

So if you're looking for a job.......

And this one about knives Buck made for other companies......Where he helped out Dave with a memory......

Off the top of my head I can remember a model 525 that was stamped, as Dave pointed out, Klien. (Or Klein?)
We were doing, or going to do, blades for Cold Steel too, but I dont know how far we got into that before the whole idea was scrapped.
Also, we ground some blades for the 192 Smatchet, I think it was 500 pieces?
And while we had a custom shop we did some blades for a company called Cedar Creek. I remember a large and small fillet knife and a bowie like knife which was called, I believe, a Stinger. The Cedar Creek knives had a great handle, it kind of wrapped around the top and bottom of your hand.
I hope this helps.

Vorpal, I have zero skin in this, but from the outside looking in, it seems like you’re trolling these guys pretty hard. Might want to dial it back a few notches before a mod does it for you. ;)

Now, Mr. Smartiepants, try this for me: clear your browser cookies, log back in, and try clicking the link you posted. You’ll see what everyone else is telling you, it doesn’t work. o_O

The links work fine for me. Clearing cookies always has some unintended consequences and causes problems.

If others are having problems, I gave them a search solution that's quite easy.

Thanks for your concern, but I'm teaching, not trolling. I don't know who you mean by "these guys" but there's a little clique of guys who sell and promote their merchandise on the Buck Forum who have been stalking my posts and causing problems for a while. Maybe it's them to which you refer?

Funny thing is, they keep saying they have me on ignore (which I approve of) but they keep stalking my posts and trying to start arguments. How can they do that if they have me on ignore?

I scroll through most of it. I don't need any of their silly insecurity and bluster.

:)

Keep telling yourself that. I’m just telling you what it looks like from a neutral parties’ perspective.

Searches on the forum are tied to the user that made them. You have a cookie on your computer that makes that particular search work for you, and only you. Delete said cookie, and you’ll get an error too. So might want to get off your soapbox and stop telling folks that they’re idiots that can’t even click a link properly. o_O ;)

PS- By “these guys”, I mean the entire Buck sub forum.

Thanks again, but you're off topic and you're attacking me personally, so you can drop the pretense of being neutral.

I haven't called anybody an idiot and you shouldn't make that statement.

So desist.

Thanks.

I was told to take Slick off ignore to see some of this. And wow, Never ends huh. Just gets worse.Thank you SpyderPhreak for your input.

Everyone is so tired of VP. Its numbing. Im sending to a moderator.

I’m attacking you personally now? Um, no. o_O

While you may not have come out and called them idiots, you did all but that, insinuating it by saying they couldn’t even click a link properly.

Whatever, I’m done here. Tried to gently warn you to dial back. So much for that, not worth any more time.
