How to link to a particular post?

I know how to link to a thread. But how do I link to an individual post, so that when you click on the link you are taken just to that post?

At the top right of the post you will see a number, the number of that post in the thread. (This post will be #2 in this thread.) Right-click on that number and choose "copy shortcut."
