How to maintain a khukuri

What are these leather sheaths which are supposedly 100 years old and came with my bojpure Kukri out of some Nepalese arsenal? Fakes? Pretty good ones. The leather certainly looks its age :-)
Look closely inside the Bhojpure scabbard, and you should be able to see where the leather covering meets the wood.

doh i thought the thin ones were metal! cool , i never actually cut the leather off of one to find out
Here's one that's saved you the trouble, although you can still see the CBI Theatre insignia on the remaining leather.

@bawanna and phil , thanks really :D-- does it have no wood at all jens or is it like a leather wrap?

You know we only tease because we love you.

Not in any mano mano way ya understand.

right back at you guys and this forum and HI -- could not love this place more-- and thanks all, I did see a good gigantic hanshee offered once with a big leather wrap , i think it was just "leather" but am not really sure, just looked very flat-- but as displayed it likely was wood inside

That was actually a little personal slam on gehazi, somebody has to do it and it might as well be me ya know? But yes in khukris wood is the traditional material.
