How to make interframes?

I was thinking of getting a pantograph engraver like the ones in key cutting shops to make interframes, is this the best method or are there better/cheaper alternatives?

How to Make Folding Knives/a Step-By-Step How-To: by Lake, Centofante, and Clay.
A pantograph Mill, not an engraver, would be nice. Ron Lake uses a regular mill.

I had some give to me the How to make multi blade folding knives book by Shadley & Davis , great reading and lots of excellent info !
