how to make knife handles?

i want to make custom handle for my cold steel trail master.i wanted to use g-10 or micarta or something simular. the question is, how do you shape and inlet the stuff? this is a project i have wanted to do for a while,but had no idea how to do it.

your best bet for micarta or g10 would be a vertical mill. A dremel would work in pinch, but less accurate. have fun!

This is one of those situations where if you have to ask the question you probably should not be doing it.
G-10 requires a bit more equipment and safety than wood and leather.
Safety is a big part of working G-10.

Micarta could be worked with hand tools and some skill. It still requires a respirator and certain working procedures.
