here's the results of my method, i know it's not the topic of this thread, but ill show it anyway. im not claiming my way is the best or that im the only one doing it this way, but it does work, any slip ups on the tape are do to the operator of the blade not it's lacking an edge(im the operator)

You shouldn't have any problem selling that knife now.:D

Just a note on the rubber cement, (I've used gallons and gallons in the art studio over the years), while it won't turn rock hard like epoxy...
It will hold and hold and not let go.
The cardboard will delaminate before the rubber cement will let go.

NOTE: This is potentially a very dangerous project, and should be attempted at the reader's own risk. I have never had a problem, but that doesn't mean something bad can't happen. As with all things spinning at high speeds, extreme caution is advised.

With all due respect to everyone who has expressed an opinion here or in the other thread on this subject.
While I am still learning the black arts of knife making and sharpening and all the other interests involved with the hands on approach to doing it yourself, I do have an extensive knowledge of working in a shop environment. About 23 or so years of learning. I have seen things come apart when rotating at hi speeds, and it aint pretty. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge shared here, but I think that the quoted statement at the beginning of my post says it best. Please remember Darwin's Law. I will NOT "Try this at home".

This thread should never been started. This is extremely unsafe and very dangerous. The danger is not in the wheels flying off, but in your knife blade getting caught and flung. I'm all about homebrew solutions for everyday problems, but homebrew power machinery is a different matter. I'm closing this.
