I've been getting a little bit into playing around with paracord and found this blog that someone posted on another site I belong to. I thought the wrap turned out to look rather nice and figured some of you guys might want to give it a shot. I know I'll be attempting it on a knife at some point in the future. Since I'll have a ton of oak I can use for handles, and oak isn't necessarily a highly sought after wood. I was thinking I can pit the oak scales on and do a paracord wrap over it like this one. The link for the PDF on the wrap is in the blog but I'll include it here also. http://www.mandarinmansion.com/art_files/gripwrap.pdf

OMG: I love the can koozie. Our troops have too much time over in Iraq(thankfully). My Brother-in-law said that was the most common thing to do while he was there. It's basically crocheting/knitting/basket weaving using paracord. Hmmm, I wonder if the yarn store next door could help me with it?

You can get the paracord online fairly easily. One of the best and most reputable ones I know of is supply captain. You can get it off of flea bay also but just make sure you're getting the good stuff. You want the 550 and it should have 7 inner strands. Some people sell rope that looks similar but doesn't have the strength of 550. I've been making the chain sinnet bracelets for some family members. But he has a lot of cool ideas and things he's made on there.

Fletch, yes, you will "see" 7 cords, but each cord can be unwound producing 2 separate cords. Especially useful for fishing in survival situations.
