How to open a riveted construction knife?

I've got an Al Mar Hawk Ultralight and when I open or close it, if I listen carefully, I can hear a scrunching sound. I'm guessing it's just pocket lint because I have removed gobs of pocket lint just sitting on the tang before.

Problem I have is the knife is a riveted construction so how do I clean it properly??

Flush it with WD 40 and keep working the action.

Use compressed air to blow everything out and re-lube the pivot.
