How to perform a proper inertial opening of your folder

Today I was practicing the ever-elusive inertia method. My Yojimbo 2 flew out of my hand and imbedded its point in the floor 3 fee from my bare feet (I was wearing flip flops) and when I extracted it from the floor the tip was bent. It's only 2 months old! Lesson learned about the bare feet!

J JERRY RUBIN I'm curious what the lesson learned (about bare feet) was. You weren't really bare foot and you didn't drop the knife on your foot. You stuck the tip in the floor and bent it - what does that have to do with your feet?
