How to polish micarta?

It really depends on what matterials and how it was made. If it was put under a vacuum untill all air & voids were removed & then the vacuum removed you might get it to work. Just start wet sanding it, start with 320 and progress up to 2000
then use a automotive buffing compound with a clean bonnet or wheel. If that does not get done. Go to tap plastics and get their 4 to 1 epoxy, mix the epoxy very accuratly, using a small artist paint brush aplie one heavy coat, you can hold it under a heat lamp or use a heat gun to warm it up, that will speed the cure time and it will lay down smoother. When it cures if needed sand with very fine paper & buff. shown is pic of my homade micarta that is polished, the picture is printed on the linin that it made with

Most Micartas will polish easily by sanding to 400-600 grit, and then buffing on a 1725 RPM buffer.
White linen Micarta just doesn't polish well.
White paper can be sanded to 400, buffed with 0000 steel wool, and then buffed at 1725. Any residue left in the pores can be removed by using Simichrome liberally on a soft cloth, then waxing with neutral shoe polish.
