How to remove bladeplay(framelock)

Hi i have a knife that has play

First it was no play after i disassembled it

It got a bladeplay horizontally

If i tighten pivot it may not flip

If i loosen it so much play but smooth

Any tips to remove the bladeplay with smooth action still on

On bearings or washers? I find knives with ball bearings rarely have any play. If it is on washers, you just need to be patiently tweak the pivot tightness to find the sweet spot, of course assuming you did not pinch the washers when dissembling the knife. Also, add a bit lubricant to the pivot may help.

What knife is it? Quality of manufacture can make a huge difference. Some knives are just sloppy. Besides making the adjustments suggested above you might try taking it apart again and being careful to get everything nicely lined up.

Quick tip, when adjusting the pivot, make extremely small turns. A very slight adjustment and check for play. Lather rinse repeat.
This will only work if you didn't screw anything up during re assembly.
