how to remove coating from cold steel trail hawk

i was thinking of getting a cold steel trail hawk as a project and was wondering how to take the coating off. thanks
 
Citristrip or Kleen Strip. Both can be bought at Wal-Mart in the paint section. Wear gloves and goggles, and maybe get a razor to scrap off stubborn coating that doesn't bubble up and fall off easily.
 
Angle grinder is my weapon of choice. or read the mod'ing TH thread at the top of this page
 
Paint remover and a wire brush does the trick. I use a tiny wire brush in my dremel after I wipe the bulk of the paint off.
