How to remove sharpie from a knife

I use those little alcohol prep pads - they are sold to diabetics for cleaning injection sights and are available at any pharmacy. They work great for prepping surfaces before gluing, too.

I swear by Zippo fluid for removing gunk/grim/sharpie you name it with almost no worries as to what I'm putting it on.

Definitely one of the best ways to remove ink from a blade. I'm Diabetic, and I keep tons of those pads around, and I use them for everything. I keep some in all my tool kits, car, truck, etc..

Me too. Dissolves about anything, odourless and it's something I always have around at home. Maybe not the most cost-effective choice but I don't need it by the barrel.

If you are using the Sharpie to help you check your sharpening angle, may I suggest using a Dry-Erase marker instead. It does the same thing and wipes right off with a dry cloth. Very easy clean up. Give it a try.

Just lick the blade - gunk comes right off.

(warning - do not try this at home = this is for professional blade lickers only)

Rubbing Alcohol works just fine . Acetone and lighter fluid work even better, but will MELT some plastics, like the nylon scales on a SAK.
