How to repair damaged tip?

Why is the tip discolored?

I'm betting that's shadow, as opposed to discoloration. The photo looks like it was taken with the light source positioned somewhere above & left of the knife tip (towards the upper left quadrant of the photo frame). The tip looks like it's bent upward (towards the camera), and if so, the area behind the bent portion would be in shadow. At least, that's how it looks to me...

My money is on that it is bent, due to usually when electricity hits something the resulting discoloration has many colors in it, as opposed to just being a shade of gray in the pic.

But I have been wrong before.

Man was I disappointed when I opened this folder. It was serrated. I should have read the sellers description better. It seems like it is not in good condition. Have a look. What would you say? I paid like 70 bucks for this... It is not in good shape.

He asked $70 for that? Wow, that's balsy. Ask your money back, I'd say.

Very nice photography by the way:)

I would definitely get my money back for that one. But atleast we know that the tip was bent! Although from the rest of the condition it seems to be the least of the concerns.

Yep, those cracks at the handle edge/blade stop, along with that bent tip, make it look like the knife was dropped (thrust?, thrown?) directly on it's tip. Looks like it hit the floor pretty hard.

I figured it was dropped onto a car battery terminal which resulted in an electrical short. Not really, I was just trying to be diplomatic.

Sending it back seems like the way to go.

It's a really nice handling knife. Sounds good, feels good, and it looks good. Shame about the abuse.
