how to search forums?

I can't figure out for the life of me how to search the forum. Does it require a paying membership or something?

It requires a paying membership, however there are ways to search through google.

just trying to see if anyone had a knife made by a certain maker.

When new to a forum, it is a good idea to read the stickies etc.
