how to sell 300 + knives collection

Thank you very much, guys. A lot of these knives are no longer in production, we will see how the market will react on their scarecity. It seems that it will be a long journey, but knifeguys are nice people, I am sure that I meet some interesting people during this sale. And you never know, maybe even a friend. I am only afraid of these guys that find a micro scratch somewhere on the knife and start to complain and when you agree that you send them money back, they send you a knife with screwed lock, because they tried to tune it up or you find out they are into batoning.... :-( etc. I will update my membership here on bladeforums, do the list of all knives and start to sell them in badges (by maker) as you suggest. I might put them also on some German and Czech (yes, I am from the Czech Repulic as you found out;-)) webpages. Thank you for the link on this German retailer, I did not know about him, I will try to send him my list. And if you accidentally bump into my knife in the future, let me know it is you, you gave me advice, you should get a discount;-). And yes, due to taxes, prices, postage my aim should be mostly European knifenuts. Thank you.

youncan offer package of 5/10 knives
For example 5 spyderco for xxx€, 10 CRK for xxx€....
Collectors of a specific brand may be interested by grabbing a full set of discontinued knives

It will reduce your number of "customers" while focusing on real collectors

By the way if you have a small starbenza 21 with single thumb stud I am interested ;)

Its all in the desirability of the collection. We might love knives but the $100 plus market is relatively small. Only certain brands are collected and even fewer demand a premium. In fact just getting your money back is a task in itself, and that for recognisable collectable examples.
Randal, Chris Reeve, and the odd main manufacturer might hold value. The odd established and respected custom maker too. But the vast majority will sell on quality, looks, and that they look a half decent knife.
Getting 60% of value would be doing well for anything not well known.
Best market for Collectable Knives is on Blade forums where the cliental already know what to expect. The general public have't a clue.
Bundeling limits the market as few have $500 to spare, though might want one. Big 20 knife bundles tend to be for dealers who will want to pay as little as they can get away with.

If you have a Blade show then maybe take a table and sell yourself. Discount and force sales by keen prices.

If you are in a hurry its going to cost you a lot. Done over time then you will do better. The best examples will go fast, the less good hard to move at any price.

Put a list of brand names here so we might have an idea of how your collection goes. If you had 300 Al Mars then that would flood the market. We really need more of an idea to help further.

I agree, can you give us an abbreviated list? Like a general sense of how many and of what brand and maybe whatever is a standout in terms of price (I figure a few you have are much higher than $100). You might be able to sell some here before trying to dump elsewhere if some are desirable to forum members (ie, CRK knives).

I think the suggestion about knife shows is a good one, do they have that in Czechoslovakia or maybe a neighboring country you can easily travel to?

This sounds like excellent advice to me with a collection of 300+. However, although I do know that there is one in the UK, I believe it is only held once a year; in summertime I think.... so that may be an issue. I'm not sure that the other European countries do likewise(?) but its worth checking. Best of luck. :)

I can understand this concern. Is is it possible to list all sales as final?
