How to separate 3V and ELmax steel?

My friend just finished surface ground 2 exactly same blade made of 3V and Elmax but he forgot which one is which steel.

We don't have any x-ray type of alloy tester and properly can't find any so are there any method to test?
 
Hold each blade in front of your heat treat oven. The oven does not even need to be on, the blades just need to see the oven. The blade that recoils in fear and takes on the shape of a banana is the AEB-L
 
All joking aside, are the blades heat treated. But a simple test is aeb-L is stainless and 3V is not. I would think a quick dip in ferric cloride would show all
 
WOW it must be late, you said elmax I read AEB-L lol. But the same acid test should apply.
 
Haha never know that AEB-L is such a fearsome steel to the kiln! Anyway yes, the blades are heat treated.

3v tastes slightly mellow, tones of cardamom and unrefined sugar, smooth on the tongue with velvety mouthfeel.

Elmax is bold, forward, essence of Bordeaux wine and thyme, thin on the palate and bright, with a citrus bite.

I thought you were talking bourbon.

But coffee? It just comes in two flavors, red can and blue can.
