How to set your first post to stay at the top

Hi guys I’ve seen a few threads where the initial post remains at the top even when you are on different pages of the thread, how is that accomplished?

I think you start the thread with the "question" prefix.

edit: benchwarmer beat me to it.

The answers will default to show by upvotes, rather than chronologically.

Weird, all the threads I go to with this feature default to show by date.

It is nice that you have the option for both and that it's easy to switch between the two.
 
I just posted a thread but the option of Question was not in the listing, only Discussion and Poll
???

after a little testing around, it appears this is only available when creating a post in the General Discussion area and not in other sections of the forum...
