Hi,
You know how a sharp apex is like 1 micron thick , its a triangle with 2micron wide sides?
It doesn't take a lot of passes or a lot of force/pressure to have an effect bigger than 1 micron,
even with .5micron abrasive (green rouge).

Sure thats edge leading on sharpmaker , but its 400 mesh/~37 micron abrasive working on that 1micron apex, ultra light 5-10 grams of force, very short strokes...
10 grams / 1 micron * 1 inch = 560 PSI
