hello guys,
i'm about to order an Opinel knife and i was just wondering how many fake ones are out there? and how do i spot them?
can you tell if this one is authentic?

thank you.
In my opinion, there is very very small to no profit in counterfeiting Opinels. Too low of a price point. That looks ligit to me but I'd recommend you compare to what's offered on the Opinel official site and distributers.
Looks like a real opinel to me, and I don't think these knives are being counterfeited because they're so inexpensive. ( it would be like selling a counterfeit of a 5$ Stanley 99E utility knife )
As inexpensive as Opinels are why would you even try to buy from a dealer you're not sure of. Just go to a reputable dealer and you'll be sure that you have the real thing.
It's hard to take a person serious when they throw out a link asking if a $13 knife is fake. Go get it from a dealer for $2 more or whatever it is. I'm thinking somebody just threw a hook in the water to see how many bites they could get. Children these days...:thumbdn:
