I made this video a few days ago and I figured that some of y'all might want to know this information.

This isn't my knife, it was sent to me for a sharpening.

Good video CTS... until you zoomed in I couldn't tell a bit of difference between the 2...

Saw this on your channel the other day. Very helpful analysis on what to look out for. Keep up the good work John.

Great video :-) I want more videos like this one. I like Striders. Never touched one so if i havent seen that video and someone proposed that knife to me for... let say a second hand with a reasonably lower price (too low would be suspicious) i would probably take it without knowing it is a fake..... Thank you for that video :-)

Thanks for the effort in making the video. I do have some comments:

1) You didn't actually start telling the differences until four minutes into the video. That's like watching a Nutnfancy video. I was just about to give up.

2) I always thought there was a difference between a clone and a knockoff? To me a clone is like a Sanrenmu 710 because it looks like a Sebenza, but it's not labeled as one. A knockoff is a knife that pretends to be a different brand. Knockoffs are worse because they directly infringe on the copyright.

3) Have you considered the possibility that this is a real Strider than has been modded? Obviously the thickness difference wasn't added, but maybe it's an older model and they made them thicker back in the day? Did the owner tell you he bought it new or has it had multiple owners?

Thanks for the critique. It's not a real Strider. It costs 130 dollars and has 440C steel, and came from a Chinese website. ;)

You can tell it's obviously not real Strider just by giving it a good look over, if you have a trained eye.

Really appreciate the video. Started looking at my Striders, though mine are so old I think they were made before the knockoff's started showing up.

Good video dude, the fact that you mentioned a couple fit and finish points were actually better with the clone really shows a lot of honesty and objectivity. Going to check out some more of your channel.

Cool vid you also missed that the knockoff doesn't have a lanyard hole through the g10 just the Ti side
