How to Stop Folder Pivot Pin Rotation

I'd like to know what you guys do to prevent the lock side of the pivot pin from rotating. I just use standard pivots from www.ticonnector.com. They are exceptionally well made, so I'd like to continue using them, but having to use two torx drivers to adjust the pivot is a bit of a pain. The pics below are of one of my knives and one of the pivots.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

The pivot either needs to be a press fit in the lock side hole, or have a D shape shank that fits a D shape hole.
Other than that, some loctite and snugging that side down very tight is all you can do.

I would bet that if you used a pointed punch and banged a small divot just under the head on the shaft, you could set it in the lock side hole with a tap from a mallet and the surface disruption from the divot would be enough to hold it in.

You can punch the lock side liner pivot hole into a D shape with a few taps and a domed punch. Then just file a flat spot on the pivot sleeve that goes on the lock side liner.

Yupp, and it doesn't need to be a big wide flat. About 2mm of flat will be more than enough.

I like the punch idea... I'll give it a try. Thanks for the help!

If you have a threaded cylinder with 2 screws, put red Loctite on one of the screws to turn the partial assembly into a T-nut. After that, hold the “T-nut” with a TORX bit and tighten the screw into the “T-nut” with another TORX bit (blue Loctite optional).

Ream one liner pivot -.001 nominal and the other +.0005-.001 nominal. Press fit the pivot in the undersize liner. Depending on the liner thickness and material this may only stay a press fit for two or three press/removal cycles. But if you're finishing the liner before assembly it's kind of handy to have the pivot and stop pin pressed into one side as you work through fitting up the entire thing.
