X gear only reason she got me it (she wasn't originally going to get me one) is because she had some kohls cash to get it. I still like it though even though it's probably not real good. I still use it the flashlight and saw gets the most use.

You have to prove to your Mom that you are as safe as you say you are. Start by proving you can handle the knife in the multitool. If you prove that you can handle the knife you have, then maybe you can work your way up to another knife. BTW, who do you expect to pay for the Spydercos you want? If you want it, you better be prepared to buy it yourself. Pretty high sticker prices for you to ask a non knife person to pony up the cash for. Buying the knife yourself with money you earn shows more responsibility.

Yeah I have the money (my own money) to get any of the knives I listed so her giving me money isn't the problem.

I agree. There's not a lot of good reasons to have one, and many many many reasons why you shouldn't. When you need to "convince mom" about something, it's probably not the right thing to do - wait 5 years and do whatever you want.

I know! Imagine your kids being in proximity to (gasp) gay people! it might negatively influence their choice of sexual orientation! It's bad enough they let Jews and colored kids in public schools, but now this?! My God!

how bout the way homosexuality and that lifestyle is pushed into everything today? they couldn't start a gay boy scouts of America instead of forcing their ways into every aspect of society?

guess they're going to have to change the scout oath and leave out the morally straight part.

I don't know if every little gay scout has an agenda and wants to expose us to his lifestyle. Anyways I tend to expose my kids preferably to humans which I consider to be within my definition of normal or even role models. More exotic things only for educational purposes. But sometimes you can't help it.
A few weeks ago we went with our little kids at530 to an indian restaurant. The waitress seemed nervous but who knows maybe just a bad day? Anyways started eating and slowly the joint filled up to the max. At 6pm some unusual music started and some barely dressed Aunty started belly dancing. Nothing I think our kids would be allowed to see in a movie theater and some warning would have been helpful...

I work in an office and live in the city and really don't have a need to cut anything other than the occasional box, so I basically carry one around to enjoy and play around with. Why can't a responsible 13 year old carry one for the same reasons?

I suppose I should have highlighted responsible in my post. I also mentioned in a previous post that he should respect his mothers decision regardless. But anyway?.
